Jenkins, 114 Nassau St., New York, NY, USA, 1854), Ful-Greenleaf, section II., dates and places from his gravestone and N M Lang; Notes to Chart 1; "Edmund Greenleaf, who is named in the Chart as the common ancestor, was born in the parish of Brixham and county of Devonshire, near Torbay, in England, about the year 1600. He married Sarah Dole, and had several children born in England. In 1635 he came to America with his family, and settled in Newbury, Mass." "He was by trade a silk-dyer."; Ful-Green, section II.

[S99] Book, Genealogy of the Greenleaf Family, 1896, James Edward Greenleaf, (Frank Wood, 352 Washington St., Boston, Massachusetts, USA, 1896), Ful-Green (book)., Page 71; Personal History section; "1. Edmund Greenleaf, the common ancestor of the family, came to America and settled in Newbury, Mass., in 1635. As the origins of the family, it is believed that the ancestors of Edmund were Huguenots, the name being a trraslation of the French "Feuillevert." As the name has not been found among the English parishes, other than in Ipswich, County of Suffolk, England it is believed that the family (Feuillevert) came as French refugees to England with many other Huguenotts, who fled from their homes on account of religious principles, and settled in England sometime in the sixteenth century."
"Edmund Greeleaf was a silk-dyer by trade;"
"On the parish records of St. Mary's la Tour in Ipswich, County of Suffolk, England, is recorded: 'Edmund Greenleaf', son of John and Margaret, was baptized Jan 2, 1574."; Ful-Green, page 3-0-71.

Jan 18, 1663, 2nd Sarah (Jurdaine) Hill."
"Note: The Greenleaf Genealogy gives his baptism Jan 2, 1574. This would make him nearly 60 years old when his youngest child was born, 70 when he was at the head of the militia, and 97 at his death. Another authority gives his birth about 1590, which seems more reasonable."; Ful-Green, page 4-1-183.
